I have a Joomla installation in which I am using Community Builder to manage user profiles. Everything has been working fine. Then, yesterday i tried to ad a new field for user profiles and when i click on the "new" button i get this error:

"Direct Access to this location is not allowed"

I've looked on a lot of other forums and this error is common. However, none of the scenarios that I have found were as a result of trying to create a new CB Field.

When logged in as SuperAdmin trying to create a new field in CB I get "Direct Access to this location is not allowed."

Logging out and back in does not fix it

The solution is to make sure that there is not a legacy CB plugin in a 1.5 installation (unpublished, but still loaded in backend)

I checked and sure enough, that was the case (CB Profile Notifier 1.6 in my case). After deleting the plugin all worked again

"is there any way to avoid this error without turning on legacy plugin support?" has not been answered.

I had this same problem and was able to fix it by turning on legacy support. however i can't figure out which plugin is causing the problem.

Does anyone know how to answer the above problem?
